Lanzarote Golf is one of the courses on the Canary island of Lanzarote that was opened in October 2008.
Located in Puerto del Carmen, one of the most important tourist places in the island, there were just nine holes available when this golf course first opened and it was being visited by between fifteen or twenty players a day. Right now, it has become an important place for playing golf in the Canary Islands and it is being visited by players who come from various European cities.

The golf course was designed by the well-known American architect Ron Kirby, Course Project Manager of Jack Nicklaus, a former profesional American golfer by many considered the best player in the golf history.

When Kirby was developing the course, he took into account several aspects: On one hand, he designed the greens to be challenging but not unfair. On the other hand, he also paid attention to the natural contour of the site, keeping the existing rock features and taking advantage of the wonderful views offered by the site. He adapted the original land, retaining its attractive curves in keeping with the idyllic landscape of Lanzarote.

The result was a modern golf course of 18 holes par 72 which is 6.133 metres long. And it is is made up of 4 par 3, 4 par 5 and 10 par 4.

Lanzarote Golf course was designed in a way that any player, regardless of their handicap, can enjoy the game. However, it does not mean that it cannot be a challenging for even the most demanding golfers. (Kirby: “The course should be fun and enjoyable for all players, but not ever be regarded as easy”).

Over the years Lanzarote Golf has continued to evolve and currently it has all the necessary facilities for playing and practising golf. It has a driving range with twenty shooting stations on a carpet, putting green, an approaching area and all required equipment for rent. Moreover, it also has a reception, a pro shop, locker rooms, golf bags storage, club maker and a restaurant with large terraces and wonderful views over the course and the Atlantic Ocean.

It also offers a golf academy for adults and children who want to learn how to play golf as well as the ones who want to practise and improve their swing.

Right now Lanzarote Golf is being visited by a great number of players every day all year round because Lanzarote Golf is the place where the weather is not a handicap.
